“When you wear my clothes I would like you to appreciate the movement of the fabrics on your body and to feel a sense of comfort” . This is the inspiration from which designer Mitsuru Nishizaki developed his Ujoh AW19 collection.

Building on the philosophy of pattern cutting cultivated in the ten years from the launch of my brand, Nishizaki focussed this season on Ujoh’s signature oversizing and developed original fabrics with a danced technology from different regions of Japan to match each kind of volume. Items that have a casual and sporty feature such as big silhouette coat, blouson, skirt become modern and elegant through the research in fabric signature of the brand.
A focus on accessories, like ultra suede bags, and pursues with match the material of the outfit such as big cashmere stoles. Fabrics include wool gabardine, summe wool, gingham check and nylon block check. The glossy wool shirt jacket, one piece, and the bottom coordinates with fabrics which enhance the volumes and shapes. Fringe of the flannel placed where they can become them most.
The movement of the person makes you feel the goodness of the product further. The items that have been coated with quilting processing, burzon, skirts, and other sports teams have become a modern and elegant item by Ujoh’s different cloth. There are many accessories such as a large-sized cashmere still, a sachet made from a joint cloth, and an ultra suede bag. The material, wool gabardine, wool tropical, gingham check with Morph yarn, block check of nylon span, Toray Ultra Suede is bonded and lightly cut off tailoring. The color palette includes basic colors such as black, navy, dark grey, light grey combined with softer colours which covey a sense of softness such as lavender, saks blue, vanilla yellow, apricot.
Ujoh proposes creations inspired by a mannish and sophisticated mood based on a free creation brought about from the sense of volumes and lines seen through the lenses of a pattern maker.
Exploiting a creative process rooted in the perspective of a pattern maker, the brand employs the finest fabrics from selected threads to create designs that brings to life cloths through essential tailoring and bold cutting.
ABOUT the designer Mitsuru Nishizaki
1978 Born in Fukui Prefecture. Worked for seven years as a pattern maker at Y’, Yohji Yamamoto.
2009 Established “Ujoh” . Showing at Tokyo Fashion Week since 2014SS.
