Marseille: a different view on the French Riviera.
Marseille has a slightly seedy reputation but that reputation is nog longer deserved. There is so much to see in this city! Like churches, museums, the beautiful ports and the general mediterranean architecture.
To experience Marseille, we stayed in the Golden Tulip Marseille Euromed hotel which is near The Dock/harbour in the modernised business district. The port area is restored, clean and bustling with Marseillais at all hours.
The transport into central Marseille is very good. There are buses, an underground, a new fast tram-rail system and taxis. For your trips, it’s possible to buy multi-mode public travel tickets and also season tickets. The new tram-rail was right outside our hotel front.
On invitation, we stayed at the Golden Tulip Marseille Euromed. This hotel has reinvented the travel experience by going back to basics, with entertainment, a wide range of services, working facilities and other lovely surprises!
Rooftop sipping, swimming in their refreshing pool, snacking at the foodtruck, getting your own favorite spa products at the body bar and discovering Marseille on the Golden Tulip tandem! That was a lot of fun ;)
Besides these new experiences the hotels interieur looks amazing!
As soon as you walk into the lobby you realize that this hotel has a sense of style about it. You will find a modern reception area with interesting murals as their backdrop. Massive, funky armchairs in which you can relax and watch tv on a gigantic screen.
The hotel location is great! Within a short walk of the beautiful streets of the Jewish district and the old port. Les Docks is huge building with interesting shops and restaurants.
For eating and drinking we went to the La Joliette area, near by the hotel where there were many restaurants and bars with plenty of choice, and a good variety of food options, standards and prices.
